at 200 N. Main Street in Fairfield, Iowa. The Leopold Group Sierra
Club,

Pleasant Plain Lawsuit Settles
After
a
long and protracted legal battle, we are pleased to report that the
Pleasant
Plain lawsuit settled on March 5, 2010. The case was scheduled to go to trial on March 26th.

JFAN Grant Supports Sierra Club Water Study
The Sierra Club Leopold Group conducted a water study of Walnut Creek last year to determine if nearby CAFOs were polluting the waterway. Walnut Creek, in northeast Jefferson County, is located in an area concentrated with factory farms.
New JFAN Booklet Presents Legal Risks of CAFO Workers in Secondary Role
CAFO owners and operators are not the only ones subject to costly and time-consuming lawsuits when factory farms harm neighbors. Those who work with CAFOs in a secondary role could also be sued.
Diane Rosenberg Named Executive Director/VP of JFAN
In June, Diane Rosenberg was named Executive Director/Vice President of JFAN. Ms. Rosenberg has been a member of the JFAN Board since January 2007 and for the past year and a half has served as Treasurer.
